__ You could say the decision to launch WoW was a piece of cake or maybe a home run. But mostly it was about passion.

__ Leslie Travis met Mary Cobb as Mary was decorating a celebration cake, carefully sprinkling colorful gummy fish and bright little lifesavers on a blue jello swimming pool. A week or two later, they bumped into each other again, at the Little League field where Leslie was piecing together a thank-you quilt constructed from players’ baseball jerseys---a most unique and memorable gift for the grandmother who sponsored the team.

__ What was the connection? Their shared passion for creating eye-catching, unique and useful objects. “It brought us together,” explains Leslie. “We soon began collaborating to decorate anything that longed for a special look. We were known for being able and willing to costume anything.”

__
People they knew took an interest, too, especially when some of their parents began to require mobility aids. This led to Mary and Leslie’s best idea yet: to craft decorative and useful accessories for walkers.

__ One co-worker had come to them in tears of frustration. Her mother refused to use her walker, it was simply too “ugly.” This sweet lady loved dragons, so Leslie constructed a skirt for the walker in black and gold Chinese brocade - it was both a disguise and a decoration. And for the unsightly tennis balls on the feet of the walker, Leslie designed covers in coordinating fabric. This innovative and humorous work of creativity got the mother up and walking again - and WoW was born. It was a moving demonstration (pun intended) of the power of humor and love.

__ Soon another friend said her mother was being released from the hospital that day and would be at home all alone with her walker. She wanted a way for her mother to carry her cordless phone along with her, but how? Leslie went to work, chose a bright sunflower fabric, and created the very first Walkerpouch. The friend took the clever creation to the hospital and attached it to her mom’s walker. At home two days later, the mother fell on her way to the bathroom at 2a.m. Her phone in the Walkerpouch was within reach, and she called for help.

__ These are their first two success stories, catalysts for further innovations. Leslie and Mary are at work on the next series of Works on Walker products--- all beautiful, useful and one-of-a-kind, sort of like Leslie and Mary!

__ So, in fact, the game has just begun. Each unique WoW product is a cause for celebration for every WoW customer.
